Philadelphia police are searching for a man wearing a creepy doll mask who, according to law enforcement officials, stalked and threatened at least six people near City Hall last week. Police have released photos and videos of the suspect and are asking the public for help in identifying him, according to BBC News.
According to police, in one instance, the man asked a woman if she was “ready to die.” Another incident occurred on August 12 at around 5:30 a.m. local time. Surveillance cameras captured a masked man chasing a woman who was out for a morning run.
Law enforcement officials reported that he made threats and kept one hand behind his back. As a result, the woman tripped and sustained injuries. After the incident, the man fled to a subway station.

Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith told CBS, the BBC’s U.S. media partner, that the suspect was likely filming these incidents on his phone with the flashlight turned on. According to him, it is not yet clear whether these incidents are linked to a trend on social media. Smith also stated that the suspect could face charges including, among others, making terrorist threats, simple assault, and other offenses.
Marinho, a resident of Luanda, told CBS that she encountered a masked man while out for a morning run with a friend. She said he asked them several times to race him, but they did not respond. The women are considering changing their running route.
