Finland expects cooler weather and rain toward the end of the week
Finland is forecast to see cooler weather, rain and northerly winds toward the end of the week. Over the weekend, temperatures across the country will remain no higher than 15 degrees, YLE News reports, citing meteorologist Aleksi Lohtander. According to him, warm weather will not return in the near future.
Warm weather will persist on Wednesday
On Wednesday, southern and western Finland will still have summer weather, with temperatures around 20 degrees. About 20 degrees are also forecast in the east, although isolated brief showers are possible. It will be cloudier and more unsettled in the north, with temperatures around 15 degrees.
On Thursday, the weather will become more unstable. Clear spells are possible in southern and central areas, but rain will fall in places. Thunderstorms with heavy rain are forecast in the west and east of the country. No significant changes compared with Wednesday are expected in the north.

Cold air will arrive from the north
On Friday, winds will blow from the north, precipitation will spread, and unsettled weather will cover almost the entire country. In the south, temperatures will fall to 15 degrees, and in the northernmost part of Lapland, to below 10 degrees.
Even colder air will arrive from the north on Saturday. Temperatures across Lapland will mostly be below 10 degrees, while in the south they will remain around 15 degrees. Showers are forecast throughout the country. On Sunday, northerly winds will lower temperatures further in the south as well.
Lohtander did not rule out light snowfall in mountainous areas. However, this would not be considered the official first snow, as snow-cover depth is not measured in such areas.
