According to the company, The Japan Times Online, subscriber databases, and payment systems operate on separate infrastructure independent of the servers affected by the incident. No impact or security issues were identified in these services.
Newspaper publication and website operations continue as usual. The company warned customers, partners, and other interested parties about possible suspicious emails or calls made in the name of The Japan Times or other group companies. Recipients of such messages were advised not to open attachments or links from unknown senders and to delete them.
