In Russia, two participants in the war against Ukraine were charged with murder and dismemberment within a 24-hour period

In Russia, within a single day, participants in the war against Ukraine became suspects in two criminal cases involving murder and the dismemberment of bodies.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a man is accused of murdering three women. According to investigators, on October 3, during an argument, he killed his live-in partner, then went to her mother and daughter and told them about the crime. When the women decided to go to the police, the man allegedly killed them as well.

Afterward, according to investigators, he dismembered the bodies and rented a “Gazel” van to transport them to the forest. The vehicle was stopped by traffic police officers, who discovered body parts inside. The suspect has partially confessed to the crimes and is currently in custody.

Another murder is under investigation in Moscow. War veteran Teimuraz Gogiashvili is suspected of murdering 54-year-old businesswoman Olena Tsereteli and her 19-year-old daughter. According to Russian media reports, he first shot the daughter, then killed and dismembered her mother. Body parts were found in the apartment.

Gogiaashvili was detained in the Voronezh region. According to TASS, he confessed to both murders. Previously, he served in the “Sparta” battalion of the so-called “DPR.”

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to statements by Russian leader Vladimir Putin claiming that Ukraine is allegedly losing its statehood and cannot exist independently. Zelenskyy stated that such remarks reveal how Putin views the goal of the war against Ukraine.

Ukraine, for its part, has repeatedly stated the need to end the war on terms that guarantee its sovereignty and security. In his response, Zelenskyy emphasized that Putin’s statements provide insight into the Russian leadership’s goals regarding Ukraine. The president made these remarks during the Helsinki Security Forum.
