In Kyiv, charges have been filed against the CEO of a construction company and a private notary, who are suspected of illegal activities involving official records. According to the prosecutor’s office, they conspired to submit false information regarding the extension of the lease on a plot of land where an unfinished building was under construction.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
Meanwhile, the rights to this property already belong to investors. An investigation is currently underway under the procedural supervision of the Podil District Prosecutor’s Office.
A private company leased a land plot in the Podilskyi district for the construction of a residential complex. Construction was never completed, but the land lease term expired during this time. Without applying through legal channels to the Kyiv City Council for an extension of the land lease agreement, the developer entered information into state registries in February 2022 through a private notary regarding the automatic extension of the lease agreement until November 21, 2028.
At the same time, ownership of the unfinished building belongs to a cooperative established by the real estate development investors. In other words, through his actions, the head of the construction company deprived the building’s investors of the right to use the land on which their unfinished housing is located.
