On August 21, in the city of Qidong, Jiangsu Province, the new Chinese multifunctional deepwater engineering vessel “Hai Yang Shi Yu 292” (Ocean Oil 292) was officially named and delivered. This was reported by ECNS, citing Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC).

The vessel is 126 meters long and has a displacement of over 17,600 metric tons. According to the company, its deck area is equivalent to that of five basketball courts.

The Ocean Oil 292 is equipped with a DP-2 dynamic positioning system, electric azimuth thrusters, a 400-metric-ton crane, and a 3,000-metric-ton cable drum. The vessel is designed for deepwater exploration, construction, maintenance, and emergency response operations in various regions around the world.
