China sent its first flight along the Arctic route to Europe
On August 19, the first voyage of Sea Legend Shipping’s CAX China–Europe Arctic Express service took place at the Nansha Port in Guangzhou, China. According to ECNS, this is the first direct maritime route from southern China to Europe via the Arctic Ocean.

This is 14 days shorter than the route via the Cape of Good Hope. Officials noted that the new transport corridor is expected to strengthen the role of the Greater Bay Area in trade between Asia and Europe and provide exporters with direct access to key European ports via the Arctic.
