China launches Mudanjiang–Moscow freight rail route
On September 15, a freight rail connection with Moscow was launched in the Chinese city of Mudanjiang. The first container train departed carrying shoes, household appliances, and daily consumer goods.
Route via Suifenhe
The first service will travel from China through the Suifenhe border crossing point. According to ECNS, the new connection creates a direct cross-border logistics route between Mudanjiang and Moscow. Efficient customs clearance is used for transportation.

Mudanjiang is located in the Northeast Asia economic circle. The city uses its border location to develop cross-border manufacturing, agricultural product processing, and supply chain services.
According to the publication, the new service is expected to help reduce logistics costs and stabilize supply chains. ECNS names wood processing, agricultural product processing, and biomedicine among the sectors that may benefit from the route.
