Israel says Iran has more than nine tonnes of nuclear material outside IAEA safeguards
Director General of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission Moshe Edri said at the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran has more than nine tonnes of nuclear material outside IAEA safeguards. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
Statement by an Israeli official
According to Edri, this volume includes 440 kilograms of enriched uranium. He claims that this amount is equivalent to more than ten nuclear devices.
Edri also stated that the Iranian regime continues to expand its missile and military nuclear capabilities. He said that Tehran had been rebuilding missile production infrastructure and was also seeking to fortify, conceal and develop its nuclear program, in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
The Israeli official referred to Iranian threats against Israel, the United States and the Gulf states. He also accused Tehran of using drones against civilian nuclear power plants, threatening to use advanced missiles against critical infrastructure, and supporting Hezbollah, Hamas and the Yemeni Houthis.

IAEA Board of Governors resolution
Last week, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution to refer the issue concerning Iran to the UN Security Council over violations of nuclear non-proliferation obligations. According to the publication, this happened for the first time in 20 years.
Iran warned on Monday of a possible response if the resolution were adopted. At the same time, Iran's mission to the IAEA did not mention such steps in its initial response.
Questions regarding Israel
Edri called on the IAEA to stop annually placing an item on Israel's nuclear capabilities on the agenda of the General Conference. He described it as political and, in his view, inconsistent with the agency's statute and mandate.
Edri also praised the efforts of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi regarding Syria's nuclear non-compliance under Bashar al-Assad and mentioned Israel's 2007 operation against the reactor in Deir ez-Zor.
