In Krasnodar, Russia, a man armed with a knife attacked shoppers at a shopping center. One woman was killed and several other people were injured in the incident.
This was reported by Irina Vovk, an official spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. She did not specify the exact number of victims.
According to Russian media, at least four people sustained serious injuries, while other sources report five victims. One of the shopping center’s security guards is in critical condition.
The attacker has been detained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that he was successfully subdued. According to eyewitnesses, shoppers at the mall were able to subdue him on their own before the police arrived.
The attacker’s motives are currently under investigation. He is 19 years old. It is reported that during the attack, he shouted about revenge for alleged insults he had suffered throughout his life and claimed to have planned the crime alone.
