Authorities in London are investigating an attempted arson near a Jewish organization
In London, police are investigating an attempted arson attack on a building that previously housed a Jewish organization. The incident occurred overnight, but a major fire was averted. The arsonist has not yet been apprehended. This was reported by Sky News.
In the British capital, London, authorities are investigating a failed arson attempt on a building in the city’s northwest where a Jewish charity organization was previously located. Its sign still remains on the facade, making the location easily recognizable.
Police were called to the scene around 10:30 p.m. on Friday. It is already known that the building is located about a mile and a half from another incident that occurred in March, when ambulances associated with a Jewish organization were set on fire.
According to preliminary reports, an unknown individual brought a bag containing bottles of a flammable mixture to the entrance, set them on fire, and fled. However, the liquid did not ignite as intended, so the fire did not fully erupt—only the front door was damaged. The London Police noted that they are not currently classifying the incident as a terrorist act and are continuing to investigate the motives behind the arson. The attacker’s identity has not yet been established, and the search is ongoing.
A large fire also broke out in a warehouse near Helsinki. The fire spread rapidly, and thick smoke blanketed the surrounding area. Residents were asked to stay home and limit their time outdoors.
