In Melbourne, a stolen tractor rammed the doors of a farm café — ABC News Australia

Victoria Police in Australia are searching for a group suspected of breaking into the urban Bundoora Park Farm in northern Melbourne, stealing a tractor and damaging the doors of a café. As ABC News Australia reports, law enforcement released surveillance camera footage from the scene.

Break-in at the farm

According to investigators, the group arrived at Bundoora Park Farm on electric bicycles at about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 20. Investigators believe these people broke into several farm buildings and stole gardening equipment.

After that, police said, they stole a tractor and used it to ram the front doors of the farm café. As a result, the building sustained significant damage.

When the alarm was triggered, the group left the premises on electric bicycles, police said. The tractor’s engine was left running.

Closure and search

At the beginning of last week, Bundoora Park Farm said on social media that it was temporarily closing due to significant vandalism. The farm said that all animals remained safe and unharmed.

The farm, managed by the local council, runs educational programs in agriculture and horticulture, as well as events, work placements and animal care classes. Investigators urged witnesses who may have seen the group near the farm at that time to contact law enforcement.
