Israeli strike kills two people, including child, in Gaza City

At least two Palestinians, including a girl, were killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of an Israeli strike. Six more people were injured, Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing medics.

Strike on a car

Mohammed Abu Salmiya, head of the Gaza Strip’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa, said that an Israeli airstrike hit a car in the western part of Gaza City. According to him, a girl was among those killed.

Situation after the ceasefire

In October 2025, a U.S.-backed ceasefire took effect, ending large-scale hostilities in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, the Israeli military continued to carry out strikes, saying it sought to prevent attacks by Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.

Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire and obstructing the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s broader plan to end the conflict in Gaza. As the publication notes, this plan also provides for the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the disarmament of Hamas.

According to the territory’s health authorities, more than 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since the ceasefire took effect in October. The Israeli military says that four Israeli soldiers have been killed during this period.
