In Munich, unknown individuals set fire to a construction site belonging to the defense contractor Rohde & Schwarz
German police are investigating a possible attempted attack on the technology and defense company Rohde & Schwarz in Munich. Overnight, unknown individuals threw incendiary devices from a car onto a construction site in front of the company’s headquarters.
The incident occurred around midnight. The suspects threw several incendiary devices from a car onto the construction site near the Rohde & Schwarz headquarters.
One of the devices caught fire near some construction trailers. A police patrol quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.
No one was injured in the fire, and the flames did not spread to the company building.
Law enforcement officers also discovered another incendiary device at the scene that had not detonated. It was neutralized by specialists from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers detained two suspects at a nearby gas station.
According to police, the suspects are a 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man. Both are Bulgarian citizens.
However, their connection to the attack has not yet been established. Law enforcement also has no information about possible motives for the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Rohde & Schwarz technology group operates in the field of security and communications technologies, in particular by providing relevant solutions to government agencies and military organizations.
Given the nature of the company’s business, German law enforcement is treating the incident as a possible attempt to attack a critical technology facility.
The German company’s cooperation with the Ukrainian defense sector is drawing particular attention.
In March, Rohde & Schwarz signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ukrainian drone manufacturer Pegasus Arms. The parties agreed to collaborate on the development of cutting-edge reconnaissance systems.
At this time, there is no evidence linking this partnership to the attack in Munich. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the attackers’ possible motives.

Earlier in Slovakia, law enforcement detained two suspects in connection with an attempted arson attack on a drone manufacturing plant. The facility in question belongs to the Ukrainian company Skyeton, and the detainees include citizens of Ukraine and Latvia.
