Moldova reported an airspace violation during the Russian attack
On the night of August 19–20, a drone—preliminarily identified as a Russian “Shahed”—violated Moldova’s airspace. The drone remained over the country’s territory for about six minutes before returning in the direction of Ukraine.
According to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense, the drone’s flight was detected and tracked starting at 3:16 a.m.
As noted by the Moldovan Ministry of Defense, the drone remained in the country’s airspace for six minutes before leaving it.
Preliminary assessments by Moldovan authorities identified the aircraft as a “Shahed”-type drone.
According to the ministry, the drone crossed the border with Ukraine near the village of Bolboka (Kotlovyna), located in the Renii community of the Izmail District in the Odesa region.
It then entered Moldovan territory heading toward the village of Etulia in the autonomous territorial unit of Gagauzia.
At 3:22 a.m., the drone left Moldovan airspace and flew toward Ukraine.
“A military-type flying object left national airspace at 3:22 a.m., heading from the village of Etulia toward Ukraine. The overflight occurred following tonight’s airstrikes by the Russian Federation on Ukraine,” the Moldovan Ministry of Defense reported.
Thus, the violation of Moldova’s airspace occurred amid yet another massive Russian attack on Ukraine.
This was reported by Newsmaker, citing the Moldovan Ministry of Defense.
On the night of August 19–20, Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine, striking not only Kyiv and the surrounding region but also the Odesa and Chernihiv regions.
Over the course of August 19, Russian forces carried out 970 strikes on 57 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Six people were injured as a result of the enemy attacks.
As a reminder, Kyiv and Brovary were the main targets of the Russian Federation’s attack.
Starting in the evening of August 19, Russian forces attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times. The occupiers used drones, aerial bombs, and artillery in their strikes.
Earlier, it was reported that damage to power infrastructure was recorded in the Brovary community as a result of the enemy attack.
