A woman suspected of attempting to assassinate Yermolayev has been identified in Monaco
Monaco law enforcement officials have identified a woman suspected of involvement in the explosion near the home of Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev. The investigation into the attack is ongoing.
According to investigators, the woman was disguised as a man.
It is noted that on the day of the attack, the suspect surveyed the scene several times. Shortly before the explosion, she spotted a Ukrainian family near Place de la Moulinette, followed them, then overtook them and left a bag containing an explosive device at the entrance to the building. The woman then moved to a safe distance and, according to investigators, waited until the people went inside.
When the businessman’s partner, Anna Nasobina, walked past the bag, the suspect presumably detonated the explosive using a device resembling a remote control. Currently, according to the publication, the condition of Anna Nasobina, the oligarch’s girlfriend, remains critical. Both of her legs have been amputated.
The suspect is wanted, and a European arrest warrant has been issued for her. A judicial investigation has also been opened on suspicion of attempted murder, placing an explosive device on a public road with criminal intent, complicity, and criminal conspiracy, BFMTV reports.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ukrainian Embassy in France are working to identify the three victims of the high-profile explosion in Monaco, who, according to media reports, are Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev—who is subject to sanctions—and his relatives.
