In Moscow, police officers mistakenly detained and beat a teenager

In Moscow, police mistakenly detained a schoolboy whom they mistook for a suspect due to his resemblance to a person seen in surveillance footage.

This was reported by the publication “Ostrozhno, Novosti,” citing the teenager’s mother.

According to her, the incident occurred on May 4, as the boy was walking to school. The police allegedly knocked him to the ground, tied his hands with a belt, and forcibly put him in a car.

The mother claims that the officers did not identify themselves, did not explain the reason for the detention, and used force and made threats on the way to the police station.

At the station, it turned out that a mistake had been made—the teenager had been mistaken for someone else.

After his release, doctors diagnosed the boy with a concussion. The family filed complaints with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, and the Children’s Ombudsman.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that it had allegedly foiled an assassination attempt against the leadership of Roskomnadzor, which, according to their version, was being planned with the involvement of Ukrainian special services.

The FSB also detained the young men in connection with a protest involving bloody hammers near the homes of officials.
