Navrotsky's office explained why Zelenskyy has not yet been stripped of the Order of the White Eagle

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has not yet decided whether to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle due to a dispute over the name of a unit of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.

This was stated by the Polish president’s spokesperson, Rafal Leszkiewicz. According to him, Warsaw expects the Ukrainian side to reconsider its decision to name the unit after the Heroes of the UPA.

“We will wait a little longer to see if President Zelenskyy changes his decision. We cannot accept this situation,” Leszkiewicz noted.

He added that the Polish side does not currently plan to rush to a final decision, and Navrotsky himself will not consider this issue until at least the end of his visit to the U.S.

According to the spokesperson, there has not yet been a personal conversation between the presidents of Poland and Ukraine regarding this situation.
