Netanyahu will have no choice but to accept the deal with Iran — Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be required to agree to any terms of a diplomatic agreement that Washington concludes with Tehran.
The White House chief made it clear that he alone controls this foreign policy track and will not allow allies to dictate terms.
The American leader publicly demonstrated a tough stance toward Israel’s leadership and emphasized his prerogative to make the final decisions.
The U.S. president expressed confidence that the Israeli prime minister would submit to his political will.
“He will have no choice. I make the decisions. I make all the decisions. He [Netanyahu] does not make decisions,” Donald Trump emphatically stated.
Despite the recent escalation in the Middle East and the latest Iranian attacks, the White House leader remains steadfast in his desire to sign a peace treaty.
The American leader believes that Tehran’s military actions have proven ineffective and will in no way hinder his ambitious diplomatic plan. He views this protracted conflict through the lens of historical perspective.
“This will not affect the agreement in any way. We’ll see how this ends. But they [the missile strikes on Israel] were attacks that had absolutely no effect. This is one of those things that has been going on for 3,000 years, or 47 years, depending on how you count it,” the U.S. president noted, assessing the latest missile attacks.
Donald Trump spoke about this in a detailed commentary for the well-known publication Financial Times.
Trump stated that Iran had agreed to the U.S. demand not to develop nuclear weapons
Earlier, Iran launched a missile strike on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where U.S. military personnel and contractors were stationed. The attack resulted in minor injuries among personnel, as well as damage to American drones. The incident occurred amid U.S. attempts to negotiate an extension of the ceasefire with Tehran.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive and continues to interact with his inner circle, though he does so cautiously and primarily through written messages and intermediaries. Officials in Washington note that his activity has been increasing recently.
