In Nigeria, a 15-year-old boy nearly made it into the National Assembly by posing as a candidate

In Nigeria, a 15-year-old boy pretended to be a 30-year-old man with dwarfism and nearly became a candidate for the country’s National Assembly.

This has been reported by a number of media outlets, including The Whistler and The Daily Star.

The boy, identified as Mahmoud Sadis Buba, gained popularity after an interview with a local TV station. After the video went viral, he began to be called the “Miracle of Zaria” and was seen as a symbol of political change.

During public appearances, he claimed to be 30 years old, educated, and a former driver. However, documents later surfaced on social media indicating that he was actually born in 2010, meaning he is a minor.

After that, the political party initially defended him, but later decided to expel him due to suspicions of data falsification. The teenager himself subsequently announced his withdrawal from the electoral process.

Currently, there is ongoing discussion in Nigeria about how a minor was able to pass the candidate vetting process and nearly become a political figure, while experts debate whether this was a systemic error or a deliberate concealment of his age.

Earlier, we reported that Russian banker Vladimir Antonov, one of the former shareholders of the bankrupt Lithuanian bank “Snoras,” was recently detained in France under a European arrest warrant issued by the Lithuanian prosecutor’s office.
