Teenagers were arrested in Poland following a false report of a fire in Navrotsky's apartment
In Poland, law enforcement officials have detained three suspects accused of spreading a false report about a fire in an apartment belonging to the family of President Karol Nawrocki.
This was reported by RMF24.
On May 27, Interior Minister Marcin Kervinsky stated that three individuals aged approximately 19–20, who had prior run-ins with the law, were detained in connection with the case. They were taken into custody immediately after their involvement in the incident was established.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that this was a well-organized group of young people who acted not out of ideological motives, but for entertainment and personal satisfaction.
“Everything indicates that this is a well-organized group of young people who, for the sake of fame or personal satisfaction—not for ideological reasons—have already committed similar acts in the past,” said Donald Tusk.
According to journalists, the detainees were part of an online group that carried out hacking attacks and sent out false alarms. Investigators believe their motive was a desire to provoke chaos and attract attention.
“They enjoyed watching the chaos their actions created, and they took pleasure in seeing the reactions at the highest levels of government and the clashes between the two sides of the political spectrum,” noted a source close to the investigation.
The incident occurred on May 23, when a report was made via the “Alarm 112” app about an alleged fire and a threat to the life of a minor in an apartment that turned out to be owned by the family of the Polish president.
The prosecutor’s office in Gdańsk, Poland, opened a criminal investigation into the false report of a fire in the apartment of the family of Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called President Karol Nawrocki’s intention to draft a new constitution for the country a “political game” and a “frivolous initiative.” The head of government made this statement during the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
In Poland, authorities are investigating a false emergency call to the home of President Karol Nawrocki’s family; a possible foreign connection has not been ruled out.
