Russia has expressed outrage over the U.S. refusal to grant a visa to Lavrov's deputy

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, criticized the U.S. decision not to grant a visa to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov, who was scheduled to attend a UN Security Council meeting.

This was reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

According to Nebenzia, Moscow considers this a violation of Washington’s obligations under the Agreement on the Headquarters of the United Nations. He also stated that this allegedly constitutes “disrespect” for China’s presidency of the Security Council.

Alimov, who oversees UN affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, was scheduled to attend the meeting at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. China holds the presidency of the UN Security Council in May.

As a reminder, a moment where Putin was unable to say “Hurrah!” was edited out of broadcasts in Russia.

In Russia, Central Bank employees will be allowed to carry weapons for protection against drones.
