Nigeria reminds pilgrims of the registration deadline for the 2027 Hajj

Nigeria’s National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has reminded prospective pilgrims that they must complete payment and registration for the 2027 Hajj by 26 September. This deadline corresponds to the schedule set by Saudi Arabian authorities for organizing the pilgrimage, Premium Times Nigeria reports.

Biometric data and quotas

NAHCON had previously set 26 September as the final day for uploading pilgrims’ biometric data to the Saudi-approved Nusuk-Masar digital platform. The commission noted that meeting the deadlines is necessary for data synchronization and seat allocation. Failure to meet the deadline may result in the loss of allocated Hajj slots.

The commission called on state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards and people planning the trip to complete the required procedures. NAHCON Chairman Ismail Yusuf said in July that Nigeria had been allocated about 50,000 places for the 2027 Hajj. The signing of the annual memorandum of understanding between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia is expected in November 2026.

Travel cost and next deadline

In August, NAHCON announced the cost of participating in the Hajj: pilgrims from Maiduguri and Yola must pay 7,560,822 Nigerian naira, those from the country’s northern zone — 7,672,822 naira, and those from southern Nigeria — 7,882,822 naira. Those who have already paid 5 million naira were offered by the commission to pay the remaining amount to complete registration.

Separately, NAHCON set 2 December as the deadline for states to transfer the full cost of the 2027 Hajj and said that this deadline would not be extended. The commission approved five airlines to transport Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia: Air Peace, Flynas, Max Air, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services.
