Nigeria reports seizure of drugs worth 3.4 billion naira — Premium Times Nigeria
In Nigeria, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported intercepting more than 1.3 million tablets and capsules of tramadol and other opioids, as well as 6 tonnes of potent cannabis strains. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the NDLEA estimated the total street value of the substances found at more than 3.4 billion naira.
According to a statement in Abuja by NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy Femi Babafemi, the operations were conducted in Lagos, Edo, Niger, Delta, Ondo, Gombe and Imo states, as well as in the Federal Capital Territory.

The largest incident was the discovery at Tin Can Island Port in Lagos of 1,200 packages of Canadian Loud, a synthetic cannabis strain. Their total weight was 603.75 kg, and the NDLEA valued them at 1.8 billion naira.
According to the agency, the 40-foot container arrived from Montreal on September 12. Its inspection on September 16 was conducted jointly with customs officers and other security services. The packages, the NDLEA claims, were hidden in 31 large black bags placed in two Toyota Sienna vehicles inside the container.

Detentions and raids
In Delta State, NDLEA agents detained a 49-year-old man suspected of transporting 292.48 kg of cannabis in a Toyota Sienna vehicle. The agency said he identified himself as Godwin Emeka, posed as a deputy superintendent of police and used a forged ID to avoid checks at roadblocks. A 39-year-old alleged accomplice was detained with him.
In Benin City, Edo State, law enforcement officers detained a 45-year-old man who, according to the NDLEA, stored drugs in an auto repair shop. The agency reported that 48 kg of Canadian Loud, 152 g of methamphetamine and a metal storage box for substances were seized there.
Two suspects were detained on the Abaji–Abuja highway. In eight sacks that they were transporting from Onitsha in Anambra State to Mararaba in Nasarawa State, the NDLEA said it found more than 1.1 million tablets and capsules of tramadol, codeine syrup, methamphetamine and Exol tablets.
The NDLEA also reported the detention of four people during a raid in the Ita-Ogbolu forest in Ondo State. On a two-hectare plantation, according to the agency, 5 tonnes of cannabis were destroyed, while another 48 kg of dry and fresh cannabis were seized for proceedings involving those detained.
