In Germany, a nanny refused to hand over a child and bit a police officer
In the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on June 8, a nanny refused to hand the child over to the parents, and when the police arrived, she attacked them.
It is reported that a 58-year-old nanny had been working for one of the families, caring for the child. However, on Monday evening, the woman refused to hand the child over to his parents. As a result, the police had to be called.
Police department spokeswoman Daniela Bayer said that after the officers arrived, the woman began to act aggressively. “While the dispute was being resolved, the woman became increasingly aggressive and tried to flee with the child from the police. When she was detained, she kicked several times and eventually bit one of the officers on the arm,” Bayer noted.
One of the officers managed to rescue the child without harming her. However, according to a representative of the local police station, another officer also sustained minor injuries during the altercation. Despite this, the nanny was detained.
“During subsequent proceedings at the police station, the 58-year-old woman also hurled insults,” noted Daniela Bayer. The woman was charged with physical assault and insulting law enforcement officers.
In addition, police opened a case against an acquaintance of the nanny—a 55-year-old woman who, according to the spokesperson, “constantly interfered with police work and filmed everything on camera, prompting officers to confiscate her smartphone.” Law enforcement officials reported that the reasons why the nanny did not want to hand the child over to the parents are unclear.
