Protests were held in Germany against a deportation flight to Afghanistan
A protest against yet another deportation flight to Afghanistan took place at Leipzig/Halle Airport on the morning of July 28. About 250 people, including Afghan citizens, took part in the demonstration.
According to the Public Order Department, the rally began early in the morning in the airport’s departure hall. A large number of police officers were on duty to maintain order at the scene.
As the publication notes, the Airbus was scheduled to fly to Kabul via the Turkish city of Trabzon. However, no official information was released regarding the number of people slated for deportation.
During the protest, demonstrators also criticized the German federal government’s cooperation with the radical Islamist Taliban movement, which controls Afghanistan.
