In New Delhi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, the leader of the aggressor state, on September 13 proposed that BRICS countries create a common grain market and a new insurance mechanism. He also called on the grouping to take a comprehensive approach to countering global challenges.

Economic proposals

Putin presented these initiatives as ones intended to promote the economic growth of BRICS states and countries of the Global South. The Russian president also supported the creation of a separate platform for economic development within BRICS.
