Ministers in Norway Summoned to Hearings Over Ties to Epstein — NRK

In Norway, the Parliamentary Committee on Control and Constitutional Affairs has summoned more than a dozen high-ranking officials to testify regarding the country’s possible ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted in the United States of sex crimes.

This was reported by NRK.

Current Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has been invited to the hearing, as well as his predecessors, including current Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Development Minister Osmund Grover Akrust and several of his predecessors are also expected to testify.

The committee notes that the materials released in the Epstein case require an investigation into possible abuses of power and the misuse of international aid funds.

The scandal in Norway became one of the most high-profile following the publication of documents, particularly due to suspicions regarding former Council of Europe Secretary General and former Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland.

Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice released FBI documents related to allegations of sexual assault against U.S. President Donald Trump, which were previously absent from the case files of financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Previously, CNN journalists analyzed documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the case of the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and discovered significant gaps in the archives.

It is known that Jeffrey Epstein committed his worst crimes between 1999 and 2000, but this information was deliberately not published online. Internet sleuths discovered that files from those years were concealed, files that could have revealed the scale of his activities and network of influence.
