In New South Wales, man pleads guilty to 87 charges
A man from the Eurobodalla region on the south coast of the Australian state of New South Wales has pleaded guilty to 87 charges. They relate to intentionally recording intimate images without consent and using a child to produce child sexual abuse material.
87 charges admitted
At Batemans Bay Local Court, the man pleaded guilty to 83 counts of intentionally recording intimate images without consent. He also pleaded guilty to four counts of using a child under the age of 14 to produce child sexual abuse material, ABC News Australia reports.
In total, the man had previously faced 116 charges. Another 20 counts were placed on a Form 1 list: there was no formal guilty plea to them, but the court may take these charges into account when sentencing. Six charges were withdrawn.

He contests three charges
The man did not plead guilty to three charges: sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10, aggravated sexual touching of another person, and an act of indecency against a person under the age of 16. According to ABC, the alleged offences in this case may have occurred over several years.
The accused has been in custody since late 2025, and the case has already been heard in court 21 times. He attended the hearing via audiovisual link from Shortland Correctional Centre in Cessnock. The court refused him bail while he awaits sentencing and trial on the charges to which he did not plead guilty. The man is due to return to court in October.
