Proceedings in the case of suspended Paphos mayor Phedon Phedonos are continuing at the Paphos criminal court in Cyprus. As Cyprus Mail reports, key prosecution witnesses were due to testify in the case on Tuesday, September 22.
Closed hearings
Hearings in the case began at the end of July. The court decided to hold them behind closed doors, granting the prosecution's respective request.
More than ten prosecution witnesses have already testified in court. They were mainly police investigators and experts.

The next hearings are scheduled for September 29 and October 6. During them, the prosecution will continue presenting its case.
Phedon Phedonos faces five charges related to rape, indecent assault, assault causing bodily harm, as well as administering a drug or substance capable of reducing a person's resistance. He pleaded not guilty to all five charges.
