In Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s complaint service resolved 32% of cases

In Peshawar, Pakistan, the complaint service of the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province received 3,607 appeals from January 1 to August 31. According to official data, it resolved 32% of cases and took action on another 26% of complaints. This was reported by Dawn.

Review results

The chief minister’s secretariat resolved 499 complaints. Another 498 appeals were deemed impossible to act upon due to jurisdictional limitations or legal complexities.

A total of 2,610 complaints were forwarded to the province’s relevant departments for further action. Assistance was provided to applicants in 988 cases, partial assistance in 11, while the review of 781 complaints was ongoing. Another 774 appeals did not meet the required criteria for substantiation or compliance with requirements.

Complaint submission channels

A total of 1,090 complaints were submitted manually, 1,047 via WhatsApp, 687 by email, 343 by telephone, 273 through Facebook, and 111 via the X platform.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that the work of the provincial authorities would be assessed by citizens’ feedback and satisfaction, rather than by the number of meetings or presentations. He also reviewed an incident at a nursing college and said that those involved would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
