In South Africa, family identifies woman whose body was found in Kwa-Thema — TimesLIVE

In Kwa-Thema near Springs, South Africa, a family identified the body of 38-year-old Dineo Evelyn Motapane, which was found on the side of a road. TimesLIVE reports, citing police.

Woman was last seen on Sunday

According to police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the family said it last saw Motapane alive on Sunday. Her body was found on Tuesday. At the time the body was discovered, her relatives had not yet filed a missing-person report with police.

Motapane is one of eight women whose bodies have been found in the Ekurhuleni area over the past two months. Police continue to establish the circumstances of each of these cases.

Investigation is being strengthened

Mathe said that a team of investigators and specialists from various fields is working around the clock to establish the circumstances of each case, identify those responsible and bring them to justice.

Acting national police commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane expressed condolences to Motapane's family. According to the police spokesperson, Dimpane assured the family and the community that law enforcement officers continue to work at the scene and that the investigation into the murders of eight women is being strengthened.
