A 10-year-old girl from Australia’s Indigenous community, who was reported missing on Saturday, has been found in the suburbs of Perth, Australia. The Western Australia Police said the child was found on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
The girl was last seen on the evening of August 15, when she left her home in Butler, on the northern outskirts of Perth, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Five hours earlier, police had held a press conference appealing for help in the search for the child.

Law enforcement officials speculated that the girl might have traveled up to 80 kilometers and could be in the areas of Quinan, Leda, Parmelia, or Vellard in the coastal suburbs of Perth. Darren Hart of the Mandurah District Police reported that, given the child’s age, law enforcement officials were concerned for her safety. They speculated that she might be staying with relatives or acquaintances and spending the weekend in the Vellard area.
According to The Guardian World, on Monday, police mistakenly issued a statement saying the girl had already been found. A few hours later, law enforcement officials retracted that statement and announced that the search was ongoing.
