In the Moscow Region of Russia, the deputy head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs—Major General of Internal Service Sergei Malkov, who serves as chief of logistics—was detained. He is suspected of embezzling fuel that belonged to the ministry.

Also implicated in the case are Colonel Alexei Suyarov, Lieutenant Colonel Anna Levina, Igor Martyshov, chairman of the board of directors of PJSC “Eurotrans,” and three top managers of the company. This was reported by Irina Volk, a spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Criminal proceedings have been opened against the suspects under the article on embezzlement or misappropriation of property on an especially large scale. Three executives of “Eurotrans” have already been taken into custody, and investigators are asking the court to arrest Malkov, Suyarov, and Levina. All three have been dismissed from the internal affairs agencies.

This has been reported by Russian propaganda media.

Three generals have been removed from their posts in the Russian Federation over the past two years.
