Trump says Bombardier will no longer be able to sell aircraft in the US

US President Donald Trump said that Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier will no longer be able to sell its products on the American market. As the Jerusalem Post reports, he published the corresponding post on Truth Social on Monday, calling the company’s aircraft “not good enough.”

Statement on Bombardier

Trump also claimed that more than half of Bombardier’s revenue comes from the United States. He said that Canada allegedly blocks the operations of American banks and companies and had previously prevented US aircraft manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace from doing business in Canada.

The US president called Ottawa’s actions unfair. He said that companies seeking access to the American market must manufacture products in the United States, and also urged people to buy American goods and use American airlines.

Trade confrontation

The United States and Canada have been in a trade confrontation for more than a year. On August 22, the United States imposed 50% tariffs on certain Canadian goods after the sides failed to conclude a trade agreement. Both countries accused each other of derailing several days of negotiations.

According to the publication, on August 27 Trump renamed Lake Ontario “Lake America,” saying that Canada had been “ripping off” the United States for decades. On Wednesday, Apple Maps changed the name of the body of water for users in the United States in accordance with Trump’s order.
