Poland has announced large-scale exercises to test its public warning system
On Tuesday, July 21, a large-scale test of the public warning systems for potential airborne threats will be conducted throughout Poland. As part of the drill, sirens and other components of the warning system will be activated in various regions of the country.
The exercise has been named “ALARM 2026.” The alarm signals will sound from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The main goal of the exercises is to test the readiness of the alert systems for both military and civilian populations, as well as to evaluate the performance of emergency response services and identify any potential shortcomings.
Polish authorities have urged citizens to remain calm and emphasized that such tests are necessary to improve the public safety system.
The drills are not related to any real threat—they are purely for testing purposes.

Poland’s defense minister stated that Russia’s largest missile attack on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war confirms the need to continue supporting Kyiv. He also noted that this underscores the need to accelerate the modernization of the Polish army.
