Poland has launched an investigation into a possible attempt to poison Navrotsky — Polsat
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Świdnica has launched a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances of an incident involving a possible threat to the life and health of Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland.
Investigators are examining the hypothesis that the politician may have been deliberately poisoned during his election campaign last year.
The incident occurred in May 2025, when Karol Nawrocki, as a candidate for the office of head of state, was holding public meetings with residents in Lower Silesia—specifically in the towns of Zambkowice Śląskie and Dzierżoniów.
After the events concluded, the politician suddenly felt unwell, which was followed by a loss of consciousness.
In a recent interview for the book *Where Did Karol Nawrocki Come From?*, the president recalled the harrowing details of that day, which are forever etched in his memory.
“There was a moment of horror that I still remember very clearly. Sometimes I say that I won the presidential election in Dzerzhonyov—although in reality it all began back in Zambkowice-Sileskie,” he noted.
According to the head of state, immediately after addressing the voters, he felt critically exhausted.
“I just lay down in the back seat—and lost consciousness. And from that moment on, I don’t remember a thing,” the president said.
According to accounts from those around him, he suffered from severe vomiting over the next few minutes.
Eyewitnesses to the incident later described the politician’s critical condition to colleagues and aides.
“They later said they couldn’t bear to watch it (...), and when I woke up, I didn’t know what had happened during those few minutes,” Navrotsky added.
The book’s co-author, Professor Andrzej Nowak, expressed his conviction that the candidate’s sudden deterioration in health was no accident.
The historian speculated that unknown individuals may have attempted to remove Navrotsky from the presidential race by administering a dangerous substance to him.
