Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the country’s possible withdrawal from NATO.
This was reported by RMF24.
He emphasized that the Alliance cannot exist without the United States, but at the same time, the U.S. does not have such power without NATO.
According to the minister, such statements reflect the complex situation in the world, but Poland must focus on strengthening its own security and defense capabilities.
Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that the country must be strong enough to defend itself and build partnerships.
He also called on Europe to more actively develop its own defense capabilities in order to become a full-fledged partner for the U.S. in the security sphere.
At the same time, the minister expressed hope that the U.S. president’s emotional statements would change and that transatlantic unity would be preserved.
The United Kingdom has reacted to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the country’s possible withdrawal from NATO. Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized his commitment to the Alliance and assured that he would not allow the country to be drawn into war.
U.S. President Donald Trump is seriously considering the possibility of the United States withdrawing from NATO. According to him, this is because the Alliance did not join the U.S. operation against Iran.
