Trump eases hunting and fishing restrictions in the US — The Hill
US President Donald Trump signed executive orders easing certain restrictions on hunting and fishing. He announced this during a dinner in the Rose Garden attended by more than 100 hunters, anglers and representatives of the outdoor recreation industry, The Hill reports.
Access to federal lands
One of the orders instructs US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to expand the area of federal lands available to hunters and anglers. This supplements an August administration directive that opened more than 92 million acres of federal land in 32 states for such access.
Trump also said that his new order revokes restrictions introduced under the administration of Joe Biden on the use of traditional lead ammunition and fishing tackle. Burgum attended the event but did not speak.

Fishing rules
The second order provides for modernizing federal fisheries management and easing restrictions for American boaters and anglers. In particular, the document expands fishing seasons and quotas.
The president also mentioned the Great American Outdoors Act, passed in 2020. According to The Hill, it provided billions of dollars to address accumulated maintenance needs in national parks and fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Trump said that a new version of this legislation could appear soon.
