The GLOBSEC security forum has kicked off in Prague, where participants will discuss Russia’s war against Ukraine and global threats
The 21st GLOBSEC International Security Forum has kicked off in Prague, bringing together over 1,800 participants from more than 75 countries, including representatives of the Ukrainian government, the defense sector, the business community, civil society organizations, academia, and the cultural sector.
The forum is being held under the slogan “Global Systemic Transformation” under the patronage of Czech President Petr Pavel, who opened the event.
Heads of state, ministers, leaders of international organizations, and experts from around the world are participating.
Discussions center on Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the war in the Middle East, tensions in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as issues of European security, the transformation of global alliances, and energy and climate stability.
Special attention is being paid to the impact of technology on geopolitics, innovation, and information security challenges amid global instability.
The Ukrainian delegation includes representatives from the executive and legislative branches, the defense and industrial sectors, as well as the expert and cultural communities. Ukraine is one of the key participants in discussions regarding the security situation in Europe.
A series of panel discussions took place ahead of the forum, including on the role of art and information in the context of propaganda and algorithmic influence. Ilona Demchenko, program director at the Jam Factory Art Center in Lviv, participated in the event.
Over the past two decades, GLOBSEC has become one of the most influential platforms in Europe for discussing global security, strategic stability, and international cooperation.
Ukraine has launched active diplomatic efforts with countries on the African continent to stop the recruitment of their citizens into the ranks of the Russian occupation army.
From May 26 to 28, 2026, the 24th International Industrial Forum will take place at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv.
