Putin urged not to rush to conclusions about a quick end to the War
Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, declined to comment on the possibility of a quick resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, Kommersant reported.
Peskov stressed that premature conclusions should not be drawn and voiced concern over potential attempts to disrupt the peace process in Ukraine, particularly by the United States.
“It is not worth drawing premature conclusions about the proximity of the conflict in Ukraine to its end,” Peskov said.
These remarks come amid the development of a peace plan reportedly being worked on by American and Russian officials. The plan, which contains 28 points, includes provisions such as the transfer of part of Russia’s territory in exchange for long-term security guarantees for Ukraine and the EU, a reduction of the Ukrainian army, and the abandonment of long-range weapons.
The details suggest that Russian experts may have been involved in drafting the document, raising doubts in Western media.
The United States’ peace plan for Ukraine, reportedly based on a Russian-prepared document, has already sparked controversy. It caused a split within the Republican Party and has generated confusion and division in the White House.
