Body of 24-year-old student found in Rawalpindi — Dawn
The body of a 24-year-old university student was found in a house in the Awan Town Nasirabad area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. According to Dawn, the woman's brother told emergency police that she had, according to him, died by suicide.
Authorities are establishing the circumstances of the death
The brother told police that his sister was found hanging from a ceiling fan at 4:30. In his statement, he also said that after waking up in the morning, he saw his sister's body hanging from the fan.
After the brother's report, the duty police officer arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers collected forensic evidence and took the body to a district hospital for an autopsy.
Police said they would be able to establish the exact circumstances of the incident after receiving the examination results.

Police officer suspended in a separate case
Separately, police reported the suspension of a police officer in the Dhamiyaal area. He is allegedly linked to the mistreatment of a motorcycle repair mechanic.
A police spokesperson said that Malik Tariq Mahbub, head of the police operational unit, took note of the case. Disciplinary action was also initiated against the constable.
According to police, a case was registered at the Dhamiyaal police station. Mahbub said that the suspect would be detained and held accountable, and violence against citizens would not be tolerated.
