Following criticism, Rheinmetall expressed admiration for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression
The German defense contractor Rheinmetall issued a statement expressing its deep respect for the Ukrainian people’s efforts to defend themselves against Russian aggression. This came after the company’s CEO, Armin Papperger, had criticized Ukrainian drones.
The company posted the following on social media:
“We have deep respect for the incredible efforts of the Ukrainian people in defending themselves against Russian aggression, which has been ongoing for over four years. Every woman and every man in Ukraine is making an invaluable contribution. Ukraine’s particular merit lies in the fact that it is fighting extremely effectively even with limited resources. The innovative strength and fighting spirit of the Ukrainian people are a source of inspiration for us,” Rheinmetall noted.
The company also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support Ukraine with the resources at its disposal.
Earlier, the German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall officially released a video of tests of the latest FV-014 strike drone, capable of striking targets at a range of up to 100 kilometers. Although the official test site has not been disclosed, experts speculate that the drone was secretly tested on the Ukrainian front.
