Pavel Durov in Russia may be declared an accomplice to terrorists

Russian authorities are pursuing a criminal case against Telegram founder Pavel Durov, accusing him of aiding terrorists. According to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, Durov’s actions have become part of an ongoing investigation. Telegram is implicated in 153,000 crimes, of which over 33,000 are related to sabotage, terrorism, and extremism. Notable incidents include the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall and the killings of Darya Dugina and General Kirillov. If Durov is found guilty, Telegram will be permanently blocked and outlawed in Russia.

The charges also highlight the use of Telegram for coordinating criminal and terrorist activities. This development raises significant concerns about the future of the messenger app in Russia and the government’s approach to internet communications.

If Durov’s guilt is confirmed, the consequence will be a complete ban on Telegram within the Russian Federation, affecting millions of users and potentially restricting access to information.
