In Russia, starting in 2027, the Kremlin will control prices for goods and services

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that, effective January 1, 2027, will allow government agencies to monitor price changes for goods and services that are factored into inflation calculations. The new rules provide for oversight of pricing at all stages—from production to retail sales.

Under the law, the Russian government will determine a list of agencies authorized to receive information from the tax service regarding manufacturers and sellers, contracts, prices, sales volumes, as well as the revenues and expenses of market participants.

Socialy significant goods, in particular meat, vegetables, dairy products, and grains, are likely to be subject to this oversight. To collect data, officials will be able to use tax returns, accounting documents, and companies’ financial reports.

This is reported by Russian propaganda media outlets.
