Wreckage from a drone was discovered in Tulcea County between the towns of Luncavița and Văcăreni.
This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of National Defense.
According to the ministry, information about the discovery was received on April 26, after which the area was immediately secured by Interior Ministry personnel.
A joint team of specialists from the Ministry of Defense and the intelligence service was dispatched to the site to examine and recover the debris.
The materials were handed over to the prosecutor’s office at the Constanta Court of Appeals for further investigation.
This is the third instance of drone debris being discovered in Romania over the past two days.
In Romania, following Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine, drone debris was found to have caused damage to civilian infrastructure in the border region, including an electrical pole and an extension to a residential building.
Romanian President Nicușor Dan stated that he had not yet officially received resignation letters from ministers of the Social Democratic Party, although he was prepared for such a development.
