A new candidate for the position of prime minister has emerged in Romania

In Romania, three political parties are considering supporting the candidacy of the current acting Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, for the position of prime minister. This is according to Romanian media reports citing sources in political circles.

According to these sources, the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Save Romania Union (USR), and the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) are open to forming a minority government led by Nazare.

It is reported that PNL representatives have already reached preliminary agreements with the politician and secured his support. Meanwhile, the Social Democratic Party had previously failed to convince Nazare to support its proposal for forming a government.

Sources also claim that Romanian President Nicușor Dan views Nazare’s candidacy favorably, which could be a key factor in negotiations regarding the new government.
