Dynamo has learned who its opponent will be in the Europa League qualifiers, which begin as early as July

Kyiv’s Dynamo will begin its Europa League qualifying campaign with matches against Romania’s Universitatea Cluj. The draw determined the Ukrainian club’s opponent in the first round of European cup qualifying.

The draw for the first round of the 2026/27 Europa League qualifiers took place in Nyon, Switzerland, and as a result, Dynamo Kyiv will face the Romanian club Universitatea Cluj. This match will mark the start of the team’s journey in European competition.

For the Kyiv team, this stage is just the first step in a long qualifying process, as the team must navigate four qualifying rounds to reach the Europa League group stage. In the event of a loss at any stage, the team will advance to the Conference League, which gives the club another chance to continue competing in European competitions. The first-round qualifying matches are scheduled for July 9 and 16. Dynamo will play the first leg at home, while the second leg will be an away match in Romania.

The draw for the next qualifying round of the Europa League is scheduled for June 17, and the second-round matches will take place on July 23 and 30. This means that the European competition schedule for the Kyiv team this summer will be packed and will require consistent form right from the first weeks.

The 2026/27 Europa League final will take place on May 26, 2027, in Frankfurt at the Waldstadion. Overall, the qualifying process consists of several stages, where every mistake could cost a spot in the main tournament.
