In Poland, a Bolt passenger attacked a Ukrainian driver
In the Polish city of Częstochowa, a conflict broke out between a female passenger using the Bolt ride-hailing service and the driver—a Ukrainian citizen. During the altercation, the woman not only insulted the man because of his nationality but also, according to police, struck him.
Law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office are currently investigating the case.
The incident took place on July 30. A video recording from inside the car was posted online, showing a verbal altercation between the passenger and the Ukrainian driver.
In the recording, the woman can be heard using offensive language toward the driver, specifically calling him a “Ukrainian scumbag.”
According to the Polish police, the 35-year-old driver was asked by the passenger to stop near a store shortly after the ride began.
However, such a stop was not included in the route specified in the Bolt app, so the driver refused to comply with the request.
A verbal altercation then broke out between the two.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, during the altercation, the 48-year-old woman struck the driver.
After the incident, the man stopped the car, and the passenger got out.
Law enforcement identified the woman. She later turned herself in to the police.
She is currently scheduled to be taken to the prosecutor’s office, where the prosecutor will determine the legal classification of her actions and decide whether to pursue charges against her.
Polish law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
