Driver pulls rival from burning Ferrari in Shanghai
In Shanghai, China, Dutch racing driver Loek Hartog helped pull British driver Ollie Millroy from a Ferrari that caught fire after a multi-car collision during a China GT series race. The incident occurred on Saturday. Millroy is 36 years old, while Hartog is 23.
Help on the track
As reported by ABC News Australia, Hartog stopped on the track and ran to his rival's car, which was engulfed in flames. He first tried to pull Millroy out through the driver's-side door, but was unable to do so.
Hartog then took a nearby fire extinguisher and knocked down the flames enough to reach the British driver from the other side of the car and pull him out.

Millroy wrote on social media that he owes Hartog his life. According to him, no marshals or fire crews were visible at the crash site, while the Dutch driver risked his own life to help him. The racer also said that he does not remember the period from 30 seconds before the collision until an hour afterward.
Injuries and organizers' response
Millroy said he broke five ribs, his collarbone, hand and finger, and also suffered a bruised lung. Hartog responded that Millroy had nothing to thank him for and expressed hope that other people would do the same in a similar situation.
According to the Chinese outlet Global Times, China GT Championship organizers plan to review and investigate the crash after the race, as well as prepare measures to address shortcomings in competition organization, emergency response, rescue and medical services.
